Hawaii Youth Symphony and Hawaii News Now are partnering to produce a special one-hour television event to raise funds for and awareness of our inclusive, expansive programs. Television is an invaluable resource to introduce our mission and to present our performers to audiences in Hawaii and other parts of the world. Nearly 400,000 people watched our show last year.

We hope you will join us this year!

In a few months Hawaii Youth Symphony will host its annual fundraiser, He Makana O N? Mele: The Gift of Music, to benefit Hawaii's only statewide music education program. We invite you join us and celebrate the potential of our youth, generations of whom have had their lives transformed through HYS programs and their first encounter with music.

Especially in these times music is a bridge that connects: it engages communities; it brings people of all ages together; it creates pathways for youth for their academic and social-emotional growth. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic Hawaii Youth Symphony has continued to reach out to more students and families from diverse populations as we strive to fulfill our mission to Make Music a Right, Not a Privilege.

HYS provides entry points for students of every level, even complete beginners, and will award more than $50,000 in financial aid, scholarships, and travel assistance (for neighbor island students) this year.
